The club season
SBVC Boys teams practice two to three times per week (this varies by team) and compete in the SoCal Cup Event Series for regional play and the AAU/SCC Featured Event Series for national tournaments. The boys club season runs in two parts: the fall season (September to January) and the spring season (May to June), with a break in the middle for the boys high school season (February to April).
13U–14U boys: middle school boys have no high school season break. Their season runs from September to May, with practices twice per week and several shorter breaks. It may stretch into June if the team chooses to play a multi-day year-end event.
Regional events. Teams play six to eight tournament days per season on average (more for 13U–14U teams), depending on the team’s schedule. These events are usually held on weekends at AIM Sportsplex in Seal Beach.
Featured events. SoCal Cup marquee events for 2026–2027 (SoCal Cup marquee events):
- Winter Formal: December 11–13, 2026, Anaheim Convention Center
- The Open Championship: January 16–18, 2027, Los Angeles Convention Center
- The Equinox: March 6–7, 2027, AIM Sportsplex, Seal Beach
- The Showcase: June 19–21, 2027, Los Angeles Convention Center
National travel schedules vary by team.
SBVC Boys taps into our talent-rich community and strives to produce exceptional volleyball athletes and outstanding young men. Our travel teams and the quality of our players are proof of our success on both fronts. We have assembled an excellent coaching staff, all under the guidance of SBVC Director Nick Vogel, a highly respected community figure.
We encourage you to speak to our Director, or to any of the families in our program, about what it means to be part of SBVC Boys.
